Lessons with Ana are a challenging mix of logical grammatical explanation, practical exercises, and a high degree of pupil input. You don´t sit back and listen to a teacher. You apply yourself and participate. You are not instructed. You are challenged. Ana has simple explanations for all the grammatical twists, and her deployment of media in a unique fashion, makes sessions diverse, lively and engaging.

I joined the class with two friends and quickly fell in love with Ana's teaching style. She is a fun and energetic teacher. Her knowledge of linguistis is impressive, it's a knowledge that is only born out of a passion. I have continued the classes 1 on 1 every week and have seen great improvement in myself. I have gone from just about being able to cite Ricky Martin to being able to speak a little, read a bit more and understand a lot more.

Ana is a lovely experienced teacher and extremely professional – she is always well prepared for our lessons and the subject matter is always fun and interesting, with topics ranging from current affairs to art and culture. This means that I am not only learning about the Spanish language but also the Spanish culture and discussing these topics with a native Spanish speaker means that I am able to pick up certain nuances of the language very easily. She uses a lot of different interactive methods when teaching which always keeps things fresh. Thanks to Ana, I have been able to make a lot of progress in only a few months. I think the stars aligned when I found Ana and Rio Spanish School as it's everything I could ever wish for. I started learning Spanish with Ana almost five years ago and have never looked back. She is such a lovely, bubbly person but totally professional when it comes to lessons. She has an extensive arsenal of engaging materials that make learning enjoyable, coupled with her amazing enthusiasm for all things Spanish which has helped me understand more about Spanish culture and history, as well as the usual grammar and vocabulary. What I love most about her is her innate ability to understand your mood and adapt each lesson accordingly so I don't feel I always have to bring my A game week after week. Ana and her Spanish school offer an exceptional mix of high-level competence and dedication.

There is an ocean of soulless, inefficient and marketing-driven online Spanish classes and apps nowadays out there on the internet, making the potential learner confused, disappointed and eventually pushing him/her to give up. It’s a bit the same difficulty as having to find a delicious, not-overpriced and friendly-stuffed restaurant in the commercial district of a touristic area. This is the main reason I had hesitated for years to start studying Spanish. Ana and her colleagues stand out against all this backdrop.

Río Spanish School offers proprietary adequate and tailor-made teaching materials and techniques, but more importantly for me, a genuine “human-to-human” approach. I am glad I came accross Río Spanish School, it has become a tool in my personal education arsenal, and I cannot recommend it more.
